Psalm 91
יֹשֵׁב בְּסֵתֶר עֶלְיוֹן בְּצֵל שַׁדַּי יִתְלוֹנָן׃
Yoshev b'seter Elyon b'tzel Shaddai yitlonan.
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
אֹמַר לַיהוָה מַחְסִי וּמְצוּדָתִי אֱלֹהַי אֶבְטַח־בּוֹ׃
Omar l'Adonai machsi um'tzudati Elohai evtach-bo.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
כִּי הוּא יַצִּילְךָ מִפַּח יָקוּשׁ מִדֶּבֶר הַוּוֹת׃
Ki hu yatzilcha mi-pach yaqosh mi-dever havvot.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
בְּאֶבְרָתוֹ יָסֶךְ לָךְ וְתַחַת כְּנָפָיו תֶּחְסֶה צִנָּה וְסֹחֵרָה אֲמִתּוֹ׃
B'evrato yasekh lakh v'tachat k'nafav techseh tzinnah v'socherah amitto.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
לֹא־תִירָא מִפַּחַד לָיְלָה מֵחֵץ יָעוּף יוֹמָם׃
Lo-tira mi-pachad laylah me-chetz ya'uf yomam.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
מִדֶּבֶר בָּאֹפֶל יַהֲלֹךְ מִקֶּטֶב יָשׁוּד צָהֳרָיִם׃
Mi-dever ba'ofel yah'lokh mi-qetev yashud tzahorayim.
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
יִפֹּל מִצִּדְּךָ אֶלֶף וּרְבָבָה מִימִינֶךָ אֵלֶיךָ לֹא יִגָּשׁ׃
Yippol mi-tzid'cha elef u-revavah mi-y'minecha eilecha lo yiggash.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
רַק בְּעֵינֶיךָ תַבִּיט וְשִׁלֻּמַת רְשָׁעִים תִּרְאֶה׃
Raq b'einecha tabit v'shillumath r'sha'im tir'eh.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
כִּי־אַתָּה יְהוָה מַחְסִי עֶלְיוֹן שַׂמְתָּ מְעוֹנֶךָ׃
Ki-attah Adonai machsi Elyon samta m'onecha.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
לֹא־תְאֻנֶּה אֵלֶיךָ רָעָה וְנֶגַע לֹא־יִקְרַב בְּאָהֳלֶךָ׃
Lo-te'unneh eilecha ra'ah v'nega lo-yiqrav b'aholecha.
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
כִּי מַלְאָכָיו יְצַוֶּה־לָּךְ לִשְׁמָרְךָ בְּכָל־דְּרָכֶיךָ׃
Ki mal'achav y'tzavveh-lakh lishmorcha b'khol-d'rakheicha.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
עַל־כַּפַּיִם יִשָּׂאוּנְךָ פֶּן־תִּגֹּף בָּאֶבֶן רַגְלֶךָ׃
Al-kappayim yiss'auncha pen-tiggof ba'even raglecha.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
עַל־שַׁחַל וָפֶתֶן תִּדְרֹךְ תִּרְמֹס כְּפִיר וְתַנִּין׃
Al-shachal va-feten tidrokh tirmos k'fir v'tannin.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
כִּי בִי חָשַׁק וַאֲפַלְּטֵהוּ אֲשַׂגְּבֵהוּ כִּי יָדַע שְׁמִי׃
Ki vi chashaq va'afall'tehu asagg'vehu ki yada sh'mi.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
יִקְרָאֵנִי וְאֶעֱנֵהוּ עִמּוֹ אָנֹכִי בְצָרָה אֲחַלְּצֵהוּ וַאֲכַבְּדֵהוּ׃
Yiqra'eni v'e'enehu immo anokhi b'tzarah achall'tzehu va'akhabb'dehu.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
אֹרֶךְ יָמִים אַשְׂבִּיעֵהוּ וְאַרְאֵהוּ בִּישׁוּעָתִי׃
Orekh yamim asbi'ehu v'ar'ehu bi-yeshu'ati.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
